Independent & Image Art Space: Hi Alexander. What inspired you to begin to work on three-dimensional art instead of the cartoon any more in1993?

Alexander Saner: After years of working two-dimensional I decided to refine the designs and go with new creativity into the three-dimensional world.

Cut 11, 16x30x58cm, steel, 2016, unique piece

Independent & Image Art Space: What is most important for you in your sculpture?

Alexander Saner: The most important thing for my sculptures is that they are perceived as what they were created for.

Cut 7, 90x80x26cm, steel, 2015, unique piece

Independent & Image Art Space: Do you believe there is a perfect form of sculpture?

Alexander Saner: If I can’t add or remove any more, the sculpture is complete. Personally the perfect form would either be a cube or a sphere. Reduction leads to perfection.

Static 5, 35x51x37cm, steel, 2016, unique piece

Independent & Image Art Space: What are you expect from your audience?

Alexander Saner: Enjoy what you like. Stay awake and critical about the statement or quality of contemporary art.

Independent & Image Art Space: What are you working on recently?

Alexander Saner: Currently I am deciding which design sketch deserves to be followed up.
